Master of Biblical Studies

The Master of Biblical Studies (M.B.S.) program is a 30-hour program that builds upon the prerequisite Master of Ministry (M.Min.) degree.

This program equips men for leadership in the ministry of a local New Testament church and for Bible college instruction. It includes courses in biblical languages, biblical studies, and theological studies. Each course includes required reading, research and writing, along with emphasis on practical application.

 

Students admitted into the Master of Biblical Studies (M.B.S.) program must:

  • Complete the online application for acceptance
  • Give a personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour
  • Hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized institution
  • Submit a personal recommendation from their current pastor
  • Request an official transcript from the institution granting the student’s undergraduate and graduate degrees be sent to the Office of the Registrar for evaluation and approval prior to admittance

Students who complete the Master of Biblical Studies (M.B.S.) program will be able to:

  • Examine and discuss key theological concepts in light of the Scriptures 
  • Apply a knowledge of the Greek language when studying and interpreting New Testament passages
  • Develop and lead ministries within a local church following biblical principles and methods
  • Conduct research on theological subjects and produce written work that reflects disciplined research and clear, logical arguments
