Master of Divinity

The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program (30 hours) builds upon the prerequisite Master of Ministry and the Master of Biblical Studies degree programs.

It provides in-depth training to prepare men for a high level of competency in preaching and teaching the Bible and performing pastoral duties in a local church. Students also receive instruction in advanced biblical studies and theology to enable them to teach the Bible on a post secondary level. Students will be trained to engage in fulfilling the mission of Jesus Christ, and will also be equipped to teach others to do the same.

 

Students admitted into the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program must:

  • Complete the online application for acceptance
  • Give a personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour
  • Hold a graduate degree from a recognized institution*
  • Submit a personal recommendation from their current pastor
  • Request an official transcript from the institution granting the student’s undergraduate and graduate degrees be sent to the Office of the Registrar for evaluation and approval prior to admittance

* Equivalent to the Master of Biblical Studies (MBS) degree

Students who complete the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program will be able to:

  • Confront current theological issues with biblical insight and express their views in a way that is intelligent and biblically defensible 
  • Use the biblical languages with adeptness and skill in word study and sermon preparation 
  • Prepare and preach Bible messages that are expository in nature, applicable to hearers, faithful to sound exegesis, and delivered with authority and fervency 
  • Display an ability to provide faithful pastoral leadership to a local church
